Easter Egg-stravaganza at The Monkey Sanctuary

There is a lot going on during Easter weekend at Wild Futures’ Monkey Sanctuary in Looe, Cornwall.

Over the Easter weekend there will be lots of fun and games to get involved with.  On the 19th April it’s Earth Day so at the Sanctuary there will be lots of Earth day activities such as recycling and plant workshops, plus the popular earth warrior face painting!  On Easter Sunday and Monday, visitors will be able to take part in all of the Easter activities such as an egg hunt at noon.  Plus, find Murray the Monkey for a secret password to win a prize in the gift shop!

The Monkey Sanctuary is run by leading primate welfare charity, Wild Futures, and is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.  The Sanctuary rescues monkeys from the pet trade, many who suffer from being kept as pets. It currently has 37 monkeys and the Sanctuary is the only Sanctuary in Europe accredited by the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries (GFAS) recognised for its high standards of care.

On visiting The Monkey Sanctuary, there’s a lot to do for the whole family: you can take a tour of the monkey enclosures and learn about these fascinating animals from the team of expert keepers.  Or take a gentle stroll around the beautiful gardens, a haven for native wildlife, and stop for a bite to eat in the award winning Treetop café. The children will be enticed by the play area, where they can swing like monkeys or take part in arts and crafts in the purpose built activity room.
