Josh came to Our Sanctuary in May 2010, after he had bitten and seriously injured his owner. He was removed by the police at his owners request and placed at an animal farm zoo nearby. Sadly, he then spent 3 years living on his own at the zoo, in awful conditions, until it was closed down by the authorities, who asked us to take him on. Josh had been fed ice-cream and sweets at the zoo and had chewed off the end of his own tail due to severe boredom and stress. Despite the trauma he had suffered, Josh settled fantastically into his new life at our Sanctuary and has a cheerful and calm character. He has become a wise leader of a small group of capuchin monkeys and has formed a strong bond with Gizzie, a female capuchin of his age.
Adopting Josh means that you are helping to provide the resources needed to give Josh the best life possible. Your adoption also enables Wild Futures to continue its vital work campaigning for an end to the primate pet trade in the UK and abroad.
