Wild Futures is committed to providing the rescued primates with the care they deserve and the specialised healthcare they need.

Many of the resident primates are receiving ongoing treatment for pet trade-related medical issues, such as diabetes and arthritis.

Whether in an emergency or for routine diagnostic check-up, in-person vet consultations require many costly services such as anaesthesia and ultrasounds.

The primates' medical bills continue to mount and with several vital upcoming appointments, we're asking you, our incredible supporters, for your help.

They need your help...

A recent scan for long-tailed macaque Tom revealed that he has been battling a serious ongoing infection. He is in urgent need of surgery to remove the affected tissue. 

Sadly, at this same appointment it was discovered that Tom had suffered with severe and chronic pneumonia prior to his rescue. The scarring and damage to his lungs makes Tom’s surgery and recovery lengthy, risky and costly. 

About Tom

Boo Boo’s time spent living as a pet has lead to lifelong illness,  the inappropriate high sugar diet she was fed leading to her developing type 1 diabetes. 

Boo Boo’s condition needs to be carefully managed with daily life-saving medication. As her diabetes continues to progress, Boo Boo is undergoing training to prepare her for the next stage of treatment – receiving insulin injections.

Elvis was recently rushed to the vets after showing symptoms of severe discomfort. 

It was during this visit the vet discovered a hidden infection. Sadly, examination also revealed that he had developed acute arthritis in his spine.
