Wild Futures’ Exotic Pet Trade Day at Duchy College’s Stoke Climsland Campus
After the success of last year, Wild Futures has organised another Exotic Pet Trade Day on the 16th October between 10.30 am and 3pm at Duchy College’s Stoke Climsland Campus in Cornwall.
The day will consist of three talks, firstly from Wild Futures’ very own Claire Turnbull, who will be discussing the exotic primate pet trade, followed by Greg Glendell, a Companion Parrot Behaviorist talking about the exotic bird trade, and lastly Elaine Toland, from APA discussing the exotic reptile trade.
Wild Futures is a charity with almost five decades of experience as a leader of primate welfare, environmental education and sustainable practice. Wild Futures’ flagship project is The Monkey Sanctuary in Cornwall; a rescue and rehabilitation centre for ex-pet monkeys. The Sanctuary has an international reputation for the quality of care and enclosure design and is the first accredited Sanctuary in Europe. The Sanctuary receives requests on a regular basis to rescue more monkeys, many which suffer physically or mentally following their time kept as pets.
This event is for students studying conservation or animal welfare, those working in the pet trade or animal licensing industry or anyone passionate about animal welfare in general.
