Our first Big Monkey Mile took place in September 2013 and was a huge success.  Watch this space for our 2014 date!

This summer we are launching a brand new, family event in Plymouth to support the work of Wild Futures and The Monkey Sanctuary. The Big Monkey Mile will kick off at midday with a one mile fun run around central park and we are encouraging as many participants as possible to dress as monkeys to take part!  Due to demand, we are now taking registrations on the day.  Registration will open at the clock tower at 11am and close at 11:40.  Please arrive in time to register and collect your race number to avoid disappointment.  All participants must be wearing a monkey mile race number to take part.

After completing the one mile course, all runners will receive a Big Monkey Mile finisher’s medal and will then be able to relax and enjoy a well-deserved picnic with family entertainment (including a bouncy castle, face painting, arts and crafts, and much more!) in the park (picnics can only be pre-ordered up until Friday 30th August by ordering online below).

All participants are also able to order a pre-packed picnic to collect on the day, for only £3.50. This will include a delicious smoothie, sandwich, packet of crisps and piece of fruit.  If you would like to order a picnic, please let us know when you register by 30th August.

How your fundraising will help

Wild Futures works tirelessly to rescue and protect primates and their habitats worldwide. Wild Futures receives no government funding and relies solely on donations to fund its work. There is a growing need for funds to help rescue more monkeys, but at the same time to campaign to end primates as pets and also support projects in the wild. We need your help to continue with this vital work.
