About Gucci

Name: Gucci

Species: Capuchin

Who is she? The Trouble Maker

Special skills: Being everyone's favourite!

Gucci arrived at the sanctuary in 2011, with friend Kirsty. It is evident that she was born into the UK primate pet trade at a private breeders ‘facility’, as her parents belonged to different species of capuchins that would never interbreed in the wild. Gucci looks a little different because she has a cleft lip and palate, meaning it is very likely that her mother didn't receive the appropriate nutrition whilst pregnant with her. Due to having been deprived of a natural social life in her younger and impressionable years, Gucci can be an introverted character. She initially struggled to socialise with the other monkeys, but is now an integral member of our weeper capuchin group! She particularly loves new enrichment and despite, her insecurities, her social skills have improved and she often plays games with her friend, Chanel. Gucci is a real character at the sanctuary and has overcome many hardships in her life! Although she no longer lives with Kirsty, as they are different species of capuchins, the two still enjoy occasionally shouting to each other across the sanctuary!

Adopting Gucci means that you are helping to provide the resources needed to give Gucci the best life possible. Your adoption also enables Wild Futures to continue its vital work campaigning for an end to the primate pet trade in the UK and abroad.

Our adoptions are purely symbolic, which means you will not receive any real animals in the post! Monkeys are wild animals – not domesticated pets.
