Run for Wild Futures!

Set yourself a challenge for 2015/16 and take part in a running event to support Wild Futures. Whether you are a seasoned professional or a complete beginner we will be on hand all the way to offer training tips and fundraising advice, and where possible we will even be there to support you on the day!

Here are  a few suggestions of running events to enter in 2015/16…

Cornish Marathon, 26 miles, Sunday 15th November 2015

The present route, starts from Millenium House in Pensilva, where its relatively flat gradient makes for a much gentler start, however it is most definitely the 25 miles after that, particularly the climb to Foredown between miles 24 and 25, which most people will remember!

London Santa Run, 3.7 miles, 5th December 2015

Put runners in fancy dress and suddenly a run around the park becomes 10 times more fun! This is definitely the case with the London Santa Run! Join 2,000 others Santa’s in the  annual ‘Red & White’ bearded charge around Battersea Park in this festive charity fun run.

The Christmas Pudding Run, 6.2 miles, 5th December 2015

The Great Langdale Christmas Pudding Run has become the peoples choice 10K winter run. With over 1000 entrants in 2009, the race appeals to the ‘fun’ runners. Every finisher gets a Christmas Pudding for completing the course and we encourage entrants to dress in festive costumes to add to the party atmosphere.

The Royal Parks Winter Race, 6.2 miles, 31st January 2016

The 10 km race will take place in one of London’s most iconic Royal Parks. A mixed ability race series.  All runners are welcome.

North London Half Marathon, 13 miles, March 2016

Thousands of runners will take to the streets running ‘Stadium to Stadium’ from Saracens’ Allianz Park ‘through‘ the grounds of Wembley Stadium and back to Allianz Park for a celebratory stadium finish!

Great Manchester Marathon, 26 miles, 10th April 2016

Be part of the action and secure your place in the UK’s Flattest, Fastest and Friendliest Marathon. The Greater Manchester Marathon in Trafford is a marathon not to be missed. Superfast course, great entertainment, outstanding crowd support and glorious finish at Manchester United Football Club.

Plymouth Half Marathon, 13 miles, 17th April 2016

Plymouth’s Half Marathon is a much celebrated traffic-free road race, which takes in all that is great about Plymouth.

It offers stunning coastal views, a charming harbour and the beautiful National Trust grounds of Saltram Park, as well as the iconic Plymouth Hoe, where Sir Francis Drake once played bowls!

Great Edinburgh Run, 10 miles, 17th April 2016

Starting in Holyrood Park at the foot of Arthur’s Seat, the ten mile route takes runners past some of the most iconic sights in Scotland’s capital city such as Edinburgh Castle, Greyfriars Bobby, the Scott Monument and the Royal Mile.  With lots to see and do in the area, thousands of runners and their families make a weekend of it in Edinburgh every year.

Great Birmingham 10k, 6.2 miles, 1st May 2016

This event gives runners a choice of musical starting waves to select from where they will have the chance to warm up to the hits from their chosen musical era. With music from the 70s, 80s, 90s and the 00s, the event promises to bring a party to the streets of Birmingham.

Great Manchester Run, 6.2 miles, 22nd May 2016

Europe’s leading 10k running event, will return to the heart of the Birmingham on Sunday 22 May and is an event not to be missed!  Since 2003 more than a quarter of a million people have taken part and this year we will be welcoming our 300,000th runner across the finish line.

Great North 10k, 6.2 miles, 3rd July 2016

Returning to Gateshead on Sunday 3 July, it’s the North East’s biggest 10k running event, with participants finishing inside the iconic Gateshead International Stadium. The scenic route takes in sights along the NewcastleGateshead Quayside, including Sage Gateshead, BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art and Gateshead Millennium Bridge.
